1. What's the point of saving a ship that never did anything?  
Although Cerberus certainly did not save Victoria by single handedly destroying an invading fleet, she was for many years a formidible deterent. The main reason for saving her is that as well as being one of the last surviving monitors, she was also one of the earliest. Cerberus was the first Breastwork Monitor, the first British warship designed and built to be powered purely by steam, the first with a Central Superstructure and the first with two turrets on a Central Superstructure. In her day Cerberus was cutting edge technology and a quantum leap from the tall sailing ships that were being built just 10 years earlier.
