We are looking at some of the crew on the Breastwork Deck during the 1890's. Clearly visible is the doorway to the flying and shield decks.
Also visible are two sightholes (to right of top of door)
& possibly the flying deck support from the turret central pin.
Obviously two of the stokers
and the chef have brought their tools of trade on deck for the photo. Walter Bassett,
in the front row, is accompanied by his dog. Possibly standing at end right is John Dunn.
