Support Structure Options.

The results of the structural analysis carried out in 2003 indicate that the turrets and breastwork are on the verge of collapsing into the upper deck.

The three options below would prevent catastrophic collapse of the turrets and the breastwork. The more expensive option three would also prevent the hull from further settlement and twisting or bowing. For all three options the structure would also be required for the eventual lifting stage.

Option 1
Bracing turrets
from the armour belt.
Option 2
Bracing turrets & breastwork
from the armour belt.
Option 3
Bracing turrets & breastwork
on supporting piles.
