On 18 April 1884 the Cerberus logbook recorded that Petee McIntyre was discharged.

Peter McIntyre was born on 4th May 1855 in the idyllic surroundings of Loch Lomond, Scotland. The son of a “wood forrester”& gamekeeper, according to the 1871 Scottish Census which gives his occupation as “gamekeeper”, Peter initially followed in his father’s footsteps but by the 1880s records, including those for his marriage to Isabella Mylrea (12/3/1884) and the birth of both their daughters (1884 & 1888) he consistently gives his home as Williamstown, Victoria and his occupation as “mariner”.

Peter was admitted as a Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of Scotland at Williamstown on 28 September 1886. During the 1890s his occupation changes again, with Victorian Railways as his employer & the birth certificate for his son in (12/5/1899) gives his occupation as “Telegraph Linesman”.

Peter may have worked his passage to Australia on the Loch Sloy, arriving early 1882, or a couple of years earlier working on ships passing regularly between New Zealand & Sydney.

Peter died on 24 October 1907 and is buried at the Williamstown Cemetery.
