Heritage List assessment extended

The document below, from the DEH website, indicates that the assessment deadline of Cerberus for inclusion on the National Heritage List has been extended. The important points are reproduced below. The new deadline is February 28 2006.

Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999

EXTENSION OF PERIODS FOR ASSESSMENT OF NOMINATIONS FOR
THE NATIONAL HERITAGE LIST

I, Gordon Campbell, Minister for the Environment and Heritage, pursuant to section 324G of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, extend the periods within which the Australian Heritage Council must assess whether places in the Schedule meet any of the National Heritage criteria to the new deadline dates given in the Schedule. I have concluded, that despite the Australian Heritage Council making all reasonable efforts, the heritage assessments of each place cannot be completed by the current statutory deadline. The reasons for the extensions are given in the Schedule.
